Remington 600 with rib question

Who are the Remington 600 guru's? I have a Remington 600 with rib here and a replacement metal rib from Heritidge Arms. The original plastic rib was retained with two different size screws. One has a head large enough to retain rib, but the other half of them are too small? Somebody put it together with the wrong screws?
