I saw a very clear case of picture harvesting and outright fraud and thought I would share. I buy some on gunbroker, and sometimes use current auctions to help feel out prices. I saw a very nice Garand M1D with all the paperwork from the CMP for a fair price not too far away from me in TX. https://texasguntrader.com/category...uto-for-Sale/listings/1931882/Garand-M1D.html

When looking at gunbroker for price comparisons, I see the same gun (serial number, pics, and background) in an auction for a new seller https://www.gunbroker.com/item/904375441 I look closer and this new seller has only two feedback for two auctions from another new buyer with only two feedback. He is selling 5 guns for a buy it now at too cheap of a price. Scum of scum. I reported it, but doubt they will do anything. He had to invest in this scam by paying listing fees for his two initial fake auctions for feedback. I thought about "buy it now" on the Garand auction after talking with the real owner on the phone here in TX...then I could roast this MI gunbroker guy on feedback at least.

Just a reminder that feedback, or phone numbers, or caution is often warranted.

Exact same type of deal with this A-hole. I should have done my homework, I admit, I got caught up in a hurry on my way to work and placed a bid. Looked back after and saw only 2 sales to same buyer. I would just think that gunbroker, as big as they have become would be able to do a lot better job screening and helping out on a known scam, especially where firearms are concerned.

Sad we need to research every purchase and seller online. Just bought a Limbsaver recoil pad on EBay for my Benelli shotgun. Received a rock hard used Benelli factory pad in the Limbsaver package. Never did like EBay anyway. Scammer crooks are coming out fr under their rocks everywhere.
