For sale is my Remington 788 Carbine in .308 Winchester which is in very good condition. This rifle has been a safe queen and seen very limited use at the range.
This is the much sought after Carbine model with 18.5" barrel. The 788 has the 60 degree bolt lift and is known for having a very fast lock time (firing pin reaction speed). Because of this, the Remington 788 is also known as "Remington's budget tackdriver". This rifle has very good bluing and has been very well taken care of. The stock shows some scatches but is otherwise in excellent condition.
The rifle weighs 8 lbs, 12 oz with scope and loaded magazine. It has the original factory stock (13.5" length of pull) and is only 38.5" long. This is a very handy rifle for adults and an excellent choice for a youth hunting rifle.
The rifle has the original iron sights, plus comes with a 20 MOA picatinny rail, a Springfield Armory 6x40 scope with internal bubble level and BDC reticle calibrated for the 168 grain .308 ammo, and Leupold QRW rings for quickly attaching / detaching the scope in field conditions. I'm including a second magazine, also in excellent condition.
$550 USPS Money Order only. Shipped to your FFL. Add $50 if your FFL does NOT accept shipment from a private seller.
-sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures-
Here are the instructions for using the scope reticle. With appropriate 168 grain ammo, this is a true "Range It - point & click - D.R.T." system.
