I am looking to build two rifles a long action 6.5 stw and a short action 20 tactical or 2o4 ruger. my problem is rem. 700 actions are somewhat cost prohibitive. So is there any reason rem. 721 or 722 actions could not be used. Are they weaker? is there something i'm missing?

The old 721 and 722 Remington actions would be my choice over a 700 any day.

They were excellent actions and still used today in match shooting.

I remember reading something awhile back about the 721/722 actions having a quicker lock-time than the 700's. (A good thing)
