Rem 700, 7mm Rem Mag Re-Build, Pt 1

Good looking pipe and tight groups, I'm waiting on my parts to build my 7mm mag' and will by trying the 180's with either H1000 or Retumbo.

Try the 69-70 grain range. My setup is very similar to yours and I'm able to push the 180s up to 3060 fps. I have an accuracy node at 69.5 to 70 grains. Another load to try is 69.0 grains of H1000 with your choice of primer for 2950-3000 fps. If you look at the current Hodgdon data, both powders max at loads higher than I stated, but be careful and watch for pressure signs. The retumbo loads tighten up in ES close to max.

I was pondering the same thing. I really would like to push a little faster, as long as they remain accurate. Thanks for confirming my gut feeling :)
