Hey everybody, I'm new to the site--this is my second post--I did my first post in the introduce yourself forum...
I have this Rem 5R and a SWFA 3-15x42 scope but I need rings and a base so I was wondering what y'all would recommend--one piece base or two--and what rings?
I'd like to be able to shoot to 600 yards and eventually stretch it out to 800 and then maybe even to a 1000...
Second question is how do I tell what "generation" mr 5R is?
Thanks, Rick

Green stock and stainless barrel equals gen1
I like picatinny rails, usually Moa for bases on my lr rifles. Any decent rail will work, on a 300wm I would personally go with steel over aluminum. If you want cheap rings that are good, I've had good luck with Burris zee rings. My preference is leupold mark 4 rings(aluminum ones)
That's what works for me
