Reloader 26 and 7 RemMag

Just an update on my experiences with RE26 in a Rem Sendero 7RM. I did bullet seating depth testing first starting at 60 grains. Checked from .010 to .130 OTL which in my case the lands were at 2.744. I found .050 to be the best with two trips to the range to verify. Was able to get a 1/4 and 1/2 MOA at 100 where as the rest were from 1/2 to over an inch.

So I loaded from then on at 0.050 OTL or 2.695 for a OAL of 3.39.

Then started powder workup. I quickly found 60 grains was very low as it ran 2610. 62 = 2717, 64 = 2788 and 66 = 2880. So I started at 67 working up to 70.0. Here are the average speeds and MOA (three shot groups) that I got.

68.0 - 3022 - 0.872
68.3 - 3043 - 0.858
68.6 - 3062 - 0.816

69.3 - 3130 - 1.167
70.0 - 3145 - 0.657

I never had a pressure signs but I am not overly impressed with the groups. I made three range trips and to try and find a repeating pattern and nothing jumps out.

I am going to try Retumbo to see how it compares. I shot RE26 enough to know what it does. Maybe that is the best this gun will do. I least I have something to compare to.

The loads were using WW brass and Fed215M primers.

DUH...did forget that. Berger 168 VLD Hunting. I am also testing a 7STW with 180 Hunting VLD at the same time and get .25 - .50 groups each range trip with it. It is also a Sendero. I was hoping the 7RM would shoot as good.
