Refinish a laminate stock?

Is it possible to get a laminate stock refinished? I have a Remington African Plains rifle I would like to get a few small blemishes cleaned up.

Sure, it's just wood with a bunch of glue. You could do it yourself with minimal tools and cost if you wanted.

If it was a normal factory grade rifle I would give it a shot, but not this one. Any suggestions as to a good person to get to refinish it?

I do quite a bit of wood working and have done several rifle stocks. I can do it also.
