I've noticed that Shooters Pro Shop has had the black Lubalox coated red tip 180 gr 30 cal Accubond bullets available since May of this year when I first got 3 bags, got 3 more a month later and still see them in stock .....
Either they have millions available or guys are passing them up for several reasons .....
The black lubalox coating for one and the description reads as if all the tips might break off.....
I inspected the 150 pcs I got in May & only had two bullets with tips that had come off, all others were seated firmly and I applied good pressure to try and twist them off but they held up
The coating was scratched on about 50% of the bullets at the sharp boat tail edges but otherwise intact
I tumbled 100 pcs in hot tap water, dawn, lemi-shine and steel pins for about 1 hour and no trace of the coating was left, just an Accubond bullet with a red tip instead of a white tip, I have several boxes of the regular 180 gr Accubonds and miked both bullets from multiple random picks and all the dims were spot on
The important part is that after an hour of tumbling ..... None of the tips came off ...,
So I ordered another 150 pcs a month or so later and they were even better than the first batch, no missing tips and only a few with the stripped coating on the bt edges & they were jet black as midnight
I have not loaded/fired any yet but suspect they will work just fine, they are not "Seconds" but OEM overruns listed as Grade C due to their pride n joy black oxide lubalox coating having minor scratches, these are the exact same bullets Winchester loads in their "Expedition Big Game AccuBond CT" line of ammunition and won't accept nothing but shiny black bullets in their nickel brass
