I'm also impressed with the SST performance. I always thought they would not handle much. I found a node for my Win model 70 in 7wsm with the 162gn SST and hope to do the same for my 325wsm.

I know how the sst does in my 270 wsm it make a heck of a hole. Never been able to recover a whole bullet though. I've found bits and pieces of shrapnel, but never anything of substantial size. The last whitetail I shot with it was at our camp and it's very steep and rugged took a high shoulder shot to ensure she wouldn't run down the mountain. While skinning her we almost pulled her into pulling the hide off. It definitely puts a hole in one for sure
The SST is a great killing bullet. I'm surprised not many here talk about them. Yeah it doesn't have the high BC like the Eld's and Bergers but its not bad and I find them far more reliable, especially when using the heavy for caliber one's on magnum cartridges.

I was hoping to recover the 194 lehigh maximum expansion but both does we zapped had a pass through@60yards and 20yards. The wound channel looked like a broadhead went through but more ragged. They dont make it far. Thats my freinds doe with my pistol and subsonic load. Im going to look for the bullet in the spring with the metal detect.
Both are 140 gr accubonds out of a .280, m.v. of 3040.
Left one was a large whitetail buck at 20 yards, quartering to. Shot inside shoulder, went through heart and a lung and stopped under hide at last rib on far side.
Right one was a 320 yard shot on a mule deer buck, broadside. Took out both shoulders and stopped under hide on far side.

143gr ELD-X after a ~2200fps impact on a 260lbs feral hog (6.5 Creedmoor, factory Precision Hunter ammo, range ~245yds). Hit was a high shoulder, broke the shoulder and severed the spine, jacket was recovered stuck in the hide just under the opposite side should (armpit area). Core separated and exited. Performance was pretty much par for the course for a non-bonded bullet in my experience; this is the only ELD-X I have recovered from my 6.5 to date.
The one that took the bullet in the above pic is on the right (blood just behind the crease of the shoulder is where the core exited).... the one on the right was running, took 4 hits to bring her down (blown out eye was from a hit behind the ear that finally put'er down):

Here is a 130gr .277 caliber Barnes TTSX recovered from a cow elk. Shot at 225yds, quartering to, entered the chest just to the right of her right front leg and stopped under the hide behind her left front leg.
Comparing this bullet to the OP's 130gr .277 Gmx out of a cow elk at the same yardage, I would say the GMX looks like it expanded better. I shot this cow elk and a small mule buck with the 130gr TTSX and I decided not use the TTSX Again. Very little expansion. The buck was a broadside through and through but the holes were pencils. No blood anywhere. Good thing I saw where it went down.

My buddy shot a large 5pt bull in 2018 with the 143 eldx 6.5 cm, and I shot a small 5pt bull in 2019 with the same. He recovered two perfectly mushroomed bullets and mine never exited but I never found it somewhere in the chest. My bull went down within 25yds, his within 50 yds.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Recovered from my last California buck taken with cup and core in 2017. 150gr Nosler Partition. 210 yards facing me quartered. Bullet entered right side just behind the front shoulder. Recovered it from the rear left knee. The 4 deer taken since then were blow throughs with TTSXs.

I don't consider a Partition is a cup and core.
