Real world 6.5cm vs prc

I guess I can tell you what all hunts I have planned for the next 3-8 years but some depend on tags and some depend on when the borders will totally open. Some are archery elk attempts so this particular rifle doesn't really matter.

not to take this thread down the wrong road but 2900-2925 in a 22" is more than likely 70K Plus PSI.........even with a miracle powder like 26 that's just not right!

Top end in my 24.5" with R26 was right in the 2700 range

Those are 6.5/06 speeds!

This was going to be my response to what he said but I decided not to as it'd just take this thead down the tubes for the OP...
If your only getting 2700 fps with rl-26 something isn't right. You should be running 2950+ on the top end. 2700 fps isn't even top end for powder like h4350

If you guys gonna compare Cracked out rl26 load data in the creed with 14X Class bullets, you better compare cracked out rl26/N570 data with the prc. It'll do 3080 w/ 156 berger and N570 accuracy. The creed will only 2770 w/ rl26. The creed case is very efficient, no doubt and RL26 shines in that lil guy.

I wasn't saying the creed was what a prc is. The prc should be about 200 fps faster with all things being equal

I will be a little more specific. Anyone shot a 6.5 cm with the hornady 147 eldm ammo in 22 or 24" and does anyone have the velocity their prc runs with same ammo
Yes creed in a 22" and PRC in a 24" and 230-240FPS advantage. The PRC being a Christensen and the Creed being a M70. I have not run factory out of the fierce PRC.

I have several of both. FOR ME..... I see 250-3000 FPS difference between the 2. For example let's say you are at max book load for a 140 in both cartridges with similar barrel makes, grooves, and lengths...... the difference is pretty dang noticeable and it should be.

My 20" 4 groove proof creed will run a 135 at 2800 and its a stout load. My PRS comp barrel in 26" creed runs a 140 at 2800 because it is crazy accurate and super low sd there. My 18" x caliber 5 groove prc runs the 135 at 3000. That's a difference of 200.... Now my 22" 4 groove proof prc runs the same load etc at 3100. So take into the account a 20" PRC should settle in at 3050.... about 250 FPS. When running the heavier bullets like a 156 the PRC tends to be able to push to the 300 fps mark easier.

I need to get a 6.5 prc. I want one in the worst way lol. But I also already have a 6.5 creed and a 7mm rem mag so I'm having a hard time justifying it😅

I just built a 22" 65 Creed to shoot the 156's in NRL Hunter. It'll be my truck gun, too. I'm getting 2500 fps with R23, N565 and R16. R16 shows pressure not much above that speed. N565 can fill the case with no pressure. R23 takes up slightly less volume.

I've built a lot of 65SS and a couple PRCs with 26" barrels. I know I'll catch flak for this but running the 156 at 3080 is a warm load in every one I've loaded for. I'd expect 3000 'ish so that you're not disappointed if that's all you get.

So, based on my experience with those two (at the barrel length you mention) there's a 500 fps difference with 156.
