Re 26 in 300 Rum

Where did you end up for a charge weight with h1000 in front of 181 hh for 3320 fps? What primer do you prefer with h1000. I havent used 1000 alot and ill be honest, book loads have run very slow compared to stated velocity with 7 mag and 300 prc and 257 wby for me. I have some 1000 and ill try it. Hoping you can give a few notes on that load that may help. Thanks

Highest I went with H1000 with 181 Hammer was 94.0 grs.. ave. 3243 shot good. no pressure signs at all. Sd 13 es 26 bad tho. I'm sure 95 or 96.0 grains in my rifle would still be fine.
95.0 grs. Retumbo was pretty light also. I'm guessing 97.0 or more still be fine. Ave. 3201. Sd 12 es 22. Bad. 94.5 was good. Ave. 3182 fps. Sd 4 es 6 potential. Maybe it was a Nosler case...?
98.0 grs. RL33 had no pressure signs at all. Shot bad tho. Ave. 2979. 97.0 IMR 8133 shot pretty good. sd 6 es 13 no pressure signs. Ave. 3203. Not the Hammer but I tried 100 grs. RL33 with a 200 ELDX. Shot good and no pressures signs. Ave. 3150 ! sd 14 and es 21 weren't so great tho. All were Rem. cases. Have some loads with Nosler cases to try difference.
I tried 91.0 grs. Retumbo with a Berger 210 VLD . Norma case. Ave. 3182. Sd 4 es 6. No pressure signs. Potential. Ordered some Berger 215's yesterday. All loads were with Fed. 215 match mag primers.

I mean that's why we do it to see If there is in fact a better mouse trap but .. when that mouse trap never fails its really hard to set brand X and hope it works!!! LOL
I don't know why I try to better Retumbo. Magic powders like RL26 and N570 to name a couple and get them and try them to find something a little better. Most times futile. But that's what we do. Just a 16th better please. Lol

I pretty much run CCI250 in everything they have a harder cup and aren't as volatile as fed215 and there comes the able to get always quote ha ha

I have heard from a couple people that the 215's don't like to go much over 3,000 fps then accuracy fell off, not sure if there's any truth to it but kind of interesting to hear the same result.

20190817_161307.jpg Im ready to try again. Retumbo is next up. I went 93 to 99 gr in .5 gr increments. I'll keep in mind about the cci250s. I already had this brass primed that i used today. Thanks!

I've always used Fed 215 or match 215. Have CCI 250 and Win. Mag. Just never wanted to use in 300 rum. I use CCI BR2 in everything non mag or under 60 grs. Powder. Like my 6.5 PRC , 6.5 Creeds, 308,243 etc.

I swapped from retumbo to RL26 last year. I went from 90 gr retumbo @ 3005 fps to 85.7 gr RL26 @ 3048fps both shooting 212 ELD-x CCI250 norma brass @ around 5/8 - 3/4" moa. out of a 26" Bartlien barrel.

How is your extreme spread with that load? Load Density is getting kinda low i think. RL 26 is pretty forgiving in that aspect however it seems. Ive had low ES when using in 7 mag.

100 yds.
I'll prob just load 95 at 3300 for now to use hunting. No excessive pressure signs other than the velocity nosed over. Id be tempted to go to 98gr
