Range Finder degrades over time?

Has anyone ever had issues with a range finder losing it's max range over time? When I first got my Bushnell Elite 1500 I had no problems getting readings up to 1100 yards. Now, even with fresh batteries and a on a tripod, I struggle to get 700 yards. Never been dropped or wet or even dirty other than normal trail dust.

sounds like the laser diode inside the range finder is going out. i dont know bout bushnells warranty system but they would probably fix the problem for you. they are a good company. i would email them about your problem and see what they say

What do the lenses look like? The light being emitted and the amount received has a lot to do with the quality of the lenses. Scratches kill performance!
