RAMSHOT LRT POWDER

Rich have you tried LRT in an the max cases? Getting a pair of 6.5 max chambered next month and trying to find a powder that'll keep speed up case full and not eat throat like N570.
Haven't tried it in the Max but got great speed in the 30 SM.
It MIGHT work in the 6.5 Max with the heavies?

Speculating that this should, maybe fix the pressure spike problem, that happens with Retumbo and 180 ELDM & 195 Bergers?! I can run my bullets long, so where the bearing/boattail meet neck/shoulder junction, but my case fill is, nowhere near 100% with Retumbo.

Got out on the range today for a while, to give it go, so far so good! Testing some new components, that aren't from the unicorn fairy, while gathering data for a new 27" 1/8tw barrel.
110 Savage [receiver lengthened .250 for max length 7STW, way back when] 26" 1/9tw barrel
*Hornady 28 Nosler case (they required an additional anneal before use, bullets were very difficult to seat, hard brass!) Waiting for the Peterson 28 Nosler, that was ordered.
CCI-250
180 ELDM
*Ramshot LRT
Starting light: 18 shot string .5 grain increments. Looking for pressure/velocity, not flat spots.

Magneto Speed Sporter on Wiser Precision mount. Shot from bench. Atmospherics: 74F, 25.08inHG, 42%RH, 7104DAlt. Humid for eastern Colorado plains today, bringing down the DAlt, which is usually in the 8000ft range.
Easy bolt lift and zero pressure signs, with this powder/load. Didn't find max today, but it's a very good start.

Not wanting to use up my precious supply of retumbo in load development for my new 264 wm ( I need it for my 7 mag) I picked up some LRT to test on the 156 bergers.

Not much data out there except that Nosler lists LRT for the 140's maxing out at 75 grs.

I started at 70 and went up to 75 and shot through the ProChrono and to find a max..

70 grs- 2930
71 grs- 2950
72 grs- 3037
73 grs- 3044
74 grs- 3086
75 grs- 3110

Good extraction at 75,but the tell tale shiny spot.. Definitely max or maybe a tad more than max..

Looks like a flat spot at 72/73 so that's where I will start..

All other appropriate powders are "out of stock" . LOL

I've been working with Ramshot LRT and I'm liking it a lot. Compacts nicely in the case and meters like a dream! I've pushed a 300gr Scenar to 2933fps with 101.5gr. At that point I'm getting some sticky bolt lift so that was a one time deal. The sweet spot seems to be 96.5gr with about a 1gr wide node. Need to do some jump testing but it seems promising and moderately temp stable. I shot this ladder at 94 degrees and aside from some mild primer flow (I need to have my firing pin hole bushed) saw nothing scary...
