Questions for planning first elk/deer hunt 2013-Colorado

I definitely agree with that, especially by 2nd season, and it may be good for experienced hunters who are familiar with the area they hunt every year, but the question is from an out of state hunter planning a "first elk/deer hunt in Colorado" looking for info on where the animals are and the people are not. Without inside information from locals, or a guided hunt, or maybe a scouting trip prior to the hunt, this at least gives some info on hunter and animal counts in specific hunting areas. I also realized he said the CDOW website was not helpful. It would of course be a good idea to talk with locals and wildlife officers when you get to the area. And come prepared for the worst, Colorado is notorious for bizarre turns in weather conditions and surprise blizzards. Good luck with your hunt.
