Hello,

I like the looks of the Model 7. I have a Model 700 and love it! I have some questions about these 2 models and was hoping you can help. When it comes to any long range shooting I only hear of the model 700 and don't recall any mention at all about the Model 7. Why is this?

Do they share the same action?

What are their similarities between these two guns?

What are the differences between them?

Overall, is the 700 just a better model than the 7?

I ask this because I see it's easier to get the calibers I want in the model 7 than the 700, but I don't want a lesser gun. I like the idea of long range accuracy.

The model 7 is almost identical to the 700, however the action is something like 5/8 of an inch shorter than a 700 short action, and it comes with a short(20 inches in standard calibres, 22 inches in short mags), thin barrel from factory.

They are a good rifle, I would like one in 7m SAUM.

I wish they would make a stainless model 7 with a decent synthetic stock again, too.
