Hello Tac-O , I first loaded the .308 Sierra Match King 175gr hollow point for my Rem.700 Milspec 5R rifle with a 24" length , 1:11.25" twist factory barrel . Cartridge maximum overall length of 2.815" , to be able to feed through my factory magazine . The 175 SMK's shot exceptionally well . When Sierra introduced the 175gr Tipped Match King bullets , with their slightly higher B.C. , I bought 500 of them , hoping that they would be close to the same level of accuracy as the 175gr SMK with hollow-point , with a slightly better advertised B.C. I was surprised !!! Loading the tipped Match King bullets with exactly the same powder charge weight , same primer , in the same brass , at the same cartridge overall length of 2.815" , The 175gr TMK and 175gr SMK shoot into the same hole at 100 yards , and nearly the same point of impact at 600 yards , slightly less drop with the TMK. Velocity on both was the same. I found them to be nearly identical . I have used the 175gr. SMK hollow-point in taking 2 Antelope , the first in 2016 at a distance of 640 yards , and the second in 2017 , at a distance of 358 yards . The SMK's performed just like a Berger hunting VLD , massive internal damage , and both exiting . DRT . DMP25-06
