Yes I called. I had to send in the action and bolt. I bought all three bolt faces for the same action. Took 5 months but got it. Very nice. I just swap out barrels and bolts when I want. The only way they will do it is if you send the action in and let them check the head spacing on each bolt in the action. Understand that. But well worth it for sure.

They told me the same thing a couple weeks ago but I can't remember what they said for a price. Not that it matters at this point I'm doing it! I like having options!

Kinda related question, what is the max COAL for ammo in a Defiance AnTi medium (700 short) action? I know SAAMI is generally 2.825". I believe some of the short mags go up to 2.950".

Hawkins DBM Hunter mags are 2.880" for standard bolt face and 2.980" for magnum bolt face. I would assume the action plays at least some part in determining the overall cartridge length that will work with the action without some mods.
