Purchase I'm thinking about.. rem 700 and leupold

I have the opportunity to buy a Remington 700 22-250 vtr I believe with the heavy barrel and muzzle brake for $400, it's from a friend and he says it has less than 100 rounds thru it, I believe him it looks mint, but the real deal is he has a leupold tactical mark 4 4.5-14 that he's selling for $500, I offered $800 for the pair and was wondering what you think of this deal. Thanks!
