Probably not gunsmithing?

I was going to try a clear matte Duracoat. I've used valspar clear matte in the past with good results.
 
Brownell's Alumahyde works well also.

This seems like great stuff. I got in a B&C medalist for a mauser. Must have been made Monday morning or get out the door Friday afternoon. Low along the tang and bad along the bolt release so I had to add and then sand down. Then to match. This just might be the ticket
