Precision Hand Loading For Long Range-Chapter Two: Bullet Prep By Tres MonCeret

For me weighing match grade bullets is important. I rely on the manufacturer to have produced concentric bullets.

** But my next step is to tumble my sorted bullets with HBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) powder. A little goes a long way, as in 1/4 teaspoon per 100 bullets. HBN coated bullets have less friction in the barrel than moly coated bullets and give me, and most others who use HBN, no "cold shot rise" which means no fouling shots needed.

HBN powder mixed with alcohol can also be used on a bore mop to prepare a barrel.

See David Tubb's site for his take on the efficacy of HBN and the Long Range Only Youtube video for very detailed instructions on how to use HBN.
