I have a post-64 action with the claw extractor and it had a plastic stock ,from the factory. I try to fix the maxi-flexing of the stock. I filled the ribs with JB weld and put bedding compound on top , for the barreled action. It would shoot well ,then start to send flyers off the target. I had a pre-64 wood stock and put the post-64 action into the wood stock. I had to a purchase a trigger guard for pre-64. I got it on e-bay and had to modfied the trigger area as the trigger was wider. The bolt holes had to be adjusted and glass bed the barrel area and recoil lug area. I can say now, gun) she shoots well, without the flyer. So now I have post-pre-64 hybird winchester .
