That's pretty much what I bought it for. I love the way the old Winchesters feed. I was thinking 375 H&H or 416 Rem. But I've got more projects than I have time, at this price I think it will find a new home.. Good Luck

I have all good with the Pre64 aside from the 2 piece floorplate 3 screw scenario, have never found a good source for one piece floorplate.

Kept a fwt 308 for wife very nice old rifle.

Post 64 CRF several I have owned in had bridge issues - went to a Montana fixed all the issues.

Pacific tool and gauge sells a 1 piece floor plate, + gets rid of the middle screw.. Good Luck
