I have been using H4350 and H4831, but have seen neither in local stores for a long time. I have seen Hybrid 100 V, 7828, what can you recommend for 95 and 105 Bergers and 105 Hornady HPBT?

I use Superformance, which is just behind H 4831, while loading the 105 A-max. Great deer round.

I agree that RL-22 works great with 105gr A-Max's. My 700 VLS will shoot under .20" at 100 yards with 43.5gr RL-22 at .020 off the lands and under 2" at 400 yards.

I shoot 90 Bergers or Accubonds over Superformance for velocity superior to other powders. I get an instrumental (12 feet) 3360 to 3380 with 48.0 to 48.7 gr. I use HBN coated bullets so I need more powder to get the same pressure.

I have tried 100-V, VV N550, N-560, Ramshot Hunter, Reloader 17 and Reloader 22, H4350 and H4831. The sweet spot is between 4350 and 4831 in burn rate for this case volume and bullet weight. Quickload shows this. Hodgdons data also shows how Superformance is the best choice. They even show a load on the label for .243 with amazing velocity.

The worst piece of advice is H-1000. Quickload shows that you will blow a lot of it out the end of the barrel. It might be exciting for night shooting or fire starting.

Similar issue in my 6mm, 7828 might be a bit slow for the 90 grain bullets, but set it off with a 215 Federal and it worked well for me. That was back before the short cut version was on the market, can't say if it changed after that.

95gr Bal-Tips use to use AA-3100, now unavailable, I use VV-560 with almost same velocity but with excellent accuracy.

95 Berger H4350
