Powder question for 7mm Rem Mag

All rifles are different, I would have to beat the bolt open with 63 gr. IMR 4350. H-1000 is slow in my gun. Retumbo is by far the fastest and it shoots well too.

61 gr. IMR 4350 shoots 2954 vel. with good groups in my gun. 62 gr. 3035 fps. 1 1/4 in. this is max in my rifle. Start at 60 gr. and work up 1/2 grain at a time.

I think Im going to try either the H-1000 or the retumbo first still on the fence about it. Maybe I'll just buy both and load up some of each and see how it goes.

I've tried h4831, rl22, retumbo, imr7828, and h-1000 in 7mag with 160 accubonds. I shot a few 140s with rl22 and retumbo.
Rl22 was accurate with both bullets but shot different velocities at different temperatures. I won't buy any more RL powders.
Retumbo got the 160 to over 3000 fps but not great accuracy.
H4831 worked well but I had to load it way over hodgdons max load to get any decent velocity.
I like h1000 with 168 bergers. It will get the bergers around 3050 in my 24" barrel, but I load it at 2900 for best accuracy. With retumbo and h1000 I can stay close to book max and get decent velocity.
My 7mag will have a new barrel on it in a few weeks so I'll have to start my load development again. I will start with h-1000 first, then retumbo if I need to.
My 7mag loads really began to shine when I switched from a Federal mag primer to a winchester large rifle primer. I lost a little velocity but my group size and ES/SD shrank. I can get the velocity back with a little more powder.
Good luck to you and I hope this helps.

this is my best load Savage 110 bought used at gun show
as from factory only scope and Boyds stock added.

I got 3153fps with 150 gr CT silver tips with IMR7828 with a 26 in tube. No pressure signs and 3/4 in groups. I do like H-1000.gun)

I just loaded 30 rounds, in groups of 3 rounds in each powder selection from 63.5 to 72 grains of H1000. Using 168 Bergers, and heading to range in the AM to find the best load.

I use H1000 almost exclusively with my 300 RUM, and I hope it works as well for me on the 7RM.

I have a factory Rem. 700 7mm with a 26" 1-10 twist. I am using 75gn, of RL22 with CCI 250 primers and 140 gn. accubonds. It shoots 3200+fps and am getting sub 0.5 MOA. It is a very hot load, but this gun seems to like it HOT! Hope this helps.
