What does your Excalibur weigh? I went with a Brux 28" heavy Palma for my 6.5 build and trying to get an idea! Thanks

14.5 lbs without rings/scope/bipod I believe. I'll hang it on a scale tomorrow for you. The stock is a very rigid/tough and heavy stock. I think the stock is 4.4 lbs.

My research and weighing different barrel blanks led me to use the following rule of thumb for barrel blank weight planning:

4-4.5 lbs=Light Palma
5-5.5 lbs=Medium Palma
6-6.5 lbs=Heavy Palma

Of course all depends on your batch of steel, bore/groove diameters, and the slight differences in what different barrel mfgs call a Palma contour.

Autorotate, where do you get the Wby actions? Are you picking up donor rifles? I sure would like to put a 338-378 together using a Wby action and a heavy palma barrel. I really like those rifles you have done!

It's a heavy varmit barrel, not sure on the exact contour...basicly I wanted something with as little flex as possible...that way if I ran out of ammo, I could use it as a club.
