Possible New State Record Mulie

Hunters against hunters. Fisherman against fisherman. Boaters against boaters.......outdoorsman against outdoorsman......We are our own worst enemies. There are plenty of people that don't want us doing any of the things we argue about. Sure it doesn't mean we have to agree on everything. I've done it myself, I have my opinions on the animals some people hunt and how they choose to hunt them. It doesn't matter if you hunt free range mule deer with a long bow and a broadhead you chipped out of a rock you found on the hunt, or use a 10 thousand dollar rifle to shoot a white tail deer on a ranch at 100 yards, there are a lot of people actively working to stop you from doing what you do. A 15lb rainbow out of a stocked pond with a night crawler, or a 1lb west slope cutthroat out of mountain stream on a hand tied barbless fly and a bamboo rod? Different?....yes.... do both have their place?....yes. Are the two people that caught those fish friends?......not likely. Do the people that want to end the things we love care?.....nope. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be discussions, we just need to be careful who we choose to fight with. We've lost millions of acres of land that we used to be able to enjoy because we can't seem to find a way fight those that we should be fighting. Divide and conquer.....and old classic....works every time.

well another one gets the ignore button and in only two days
Some people ya just can't educate and you just have to ignore. Ole "Free roaming" was starting to sound like one of them socialist Portland protesters and exposing that a person has no right to manage wildlife on his private property and that only the socialist state has that right. Nmbarta you are correct but one of my downfalls is that I continue to poke the bear of ignorance.

Speaking of ignorance I voted for Trump and plan to again. The problem that I have with the Portland protesters for one thing is they are moving here and ruining Mt.

I agree with what you said- curious to know how you would solve the issue of the out of state hunters that have bought hundreds of thousands of acres of land in Mt.- huge ranches- 1 Texan bought multiple ranches combined them into one, locked the gates-no public hunting- which is fine, its his land. But what goes along with that is of the millions of acres of public land we have lost to enjoy, A large part of it is due to the fact that not only are they locking their gates to their land they are illegally shutting us out of public land and getting away with it. Going so far as destroying public bridges as was the case on the Rocky Mtn. Front. If you have lived in Mt. for very long nmbarta then you know exactly what we are up against. In the last 15 yrs., I have lost access to some of my best public hunting spots in north central mt.,eastern mt, and the Rocky Mt Front to out of state ( not just Texas ) people who have done exactly what I am talking about. Their attorneys still have it tied up in litigation-No Access ! As a result Montanans are losing both private lands that they used to be able hunt as well as public land. You know as well as I do this is WELL over a million acres. Explain to me how you bridge that gap when the people that are doing it refuse to even have a conversation about it, let alone give a @#%$.
