IMO, yes SS pins do a much better job of cleaning brass, especially the primer pocket area. After tumbling the brass with SS automobile car wash soap with wax in its mixture with lemiline then separating with the separator under running water
I place the brass in the sun for a couple hours. Or, don't tell my wife, in the oven on a cookie sheet @ 200 deg for 45-60 minutes.
Visually check primer pockets and neck for SS pins when resizing, chamfering each. You will not believe how clean the brass gets and the INSIDE of neck area. Same set up as Varmint Hunter uses.
