a friend talked me into working up a load for his 7 mag Rem using Berger 168 Hunting bullets does anyone have a pet load I could get to start with? thanks Jim

You didn't say which 168 Berger, classic hunter or VLD hunting.

I have been involved in making four 7mm Rem mag rifles shoot excellent groups with the 168 classic hunter and 71-73 grains of Retumbo, Norma brass and 215 primers. Bullet is seated to fit and feed from magazine. Start at 69 gr and work up for accuracy and velocity. None of the four rifles required any seating depth tweaking as all four shot tiny clusters at 100 yds.

168gr. Nosler Accubond Long Range (should be similar to the 168gr VLD)
Hornady brass
CCI mag primer
69 grains of RL-25

Don't remember the COAL off the top of my head, but I do know that the cartridge is 1 millimeter away from the tip of the bullet to the inside/end of the magazine box in a Sako A7.
