I just picked up an original sendero in 270 win, its in imaculate condition. The original owner was not much of a shooter and did no handloading.

I have yet to load for the 270, I did order some 160gr sierra gamekings and some 140NBT.

Any pet loads worth shareing out there?

WE have been shooting the daylights out of 55grs of Ramshot Hunter under a Hornady 130gr SST from our .270's.

I realize your bullets are a bit heavier but it is a danged fine load.

I also shot 46.5grs of IMR-3031 under the 130gr Nosler BT for quite a few years. Everything hit out to 350yds went down. Super accurate and hardly any recoil. It was a load I devloped for my mom before she gave up hunting. It took a lot of deer and hogs, between her, my daughter, and myself.

Coyboy,

58.2gr RL-22 and any 130 or 140gr bullet. Most important is CCI-200 or Non Mag primer. That load in a Lilja 27" bbl will get you 3200 or so w/130s and 3300 w/140s.

I have found Hornady Interlocks to be great shooters when seated to the center of the cannelure. The 130 Noslser BTs are great shooters also. The never shot any 150s in a Win. Always just seemed too big.

The 130s and 140s at the above velocities have been good to at least 700 yds.

Thanks Roy, I have plenty of rel 22 around. Have you worked with H4831sc in the 270?

My pet load for my Winchester M-70 Featherweight is:
60.0 Grs. of Reloader 22 with a 130 grain Nosler ballistic tip
Win. brass and a win. WLR primer.
Velocity is 3150 out of my 22" tube. I' ve killed a lot of whitetails with this load......But, work up to it in your rifle.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

H & IMR 4831 soured me so bad I didn't try it. I justdon't think the case will hold enough of it. 60gr of 4831 was compressed so much that it expanded the case making it difficult if not impossible to chamber. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The most accurate load in my rem 700 .270 was 57.5g of RL-22 or H4831sc and the 150g SBT, W-W case, Fed 215. It produced 2950-3000fps and .5 moa. I regularly hit my 15" gong at 800 yards with this load.

The 270 Win and H4831 go together like peanut butter and jelly /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

R22 tends to give much better velocity but, in most of the 270 wins I've loaded for, the H4831 was very consistent and accurate.

Good Luck
