PDog Hunt 6.5CM Hammer Bullet Choice

Alright my LRH folks. Can't decide which bullet to run out of my 6.5 Needmoor next month. Got a good load using 85HH right at 3300FPS, 24" barrel 1:8TR. Will have to tune it down a bit since I'll be running the bolt a lot.

Really interested in the 97AH but could only find 1 load data. May just use that out of curiosity.

My childlike brain also likes the idea of the 97 AH HP holding more oil in the tip versus the 85gr. Last year I could literally watch the Hammer Trail all the way to the PDog.

I'm not picky! What do y'all wanna see vaporize a PDog out of the 6.5CM?

97gr absolute should our pace the 85 for sure.
I'd say send them and see. I'd be willing to bet the 97gr will best the 85 for speed. It gained so much over the 99gr in my grendel I doubt the slight weight drop would see the same gains.

Decided to test out the 97AH's.
Just not enough load development out there.
Any guesses on how fast I can burn these bad boys in my 24" bolt gun?

Unfortunatly we only get the 500 yards field this year versus last years 1200.
Still a HECK of a target at those distances.
Stay tuned will work on load this weekend.

Well what speed did you get with what powder and what length barrel?

Shot them out of a 12.5" and a 16". 2850 fps out of the 12.5" with cfe 223 powder. And 3200 out of the 16" proof with varget. If i was loading a bunch of rounds for pdogs though id use the 95 vmax. Splatter pdogs just as good or better and wayy cheaper.
