We returned a week ago from our annual moose and bear hunt at our camp. There were 9 hunters this year. In Ontario you have to buy a tag and apply for a draw. In our area there were only 3 bull and 3 cow tags to be drawn . Anyone can shoot a calf. We didn't draw any tags. During the week we saw two big bulls and a spike bull, they were all well within range, but not legal. We also saw a cow but again not legal. We had bear baits out and one bait being used but none sighted.We did a bit of fishing as well. We did however have a good time, lots of fresh air, and a chance to renew friendships. So all in all very enjoyable.
Our deer hunt starts next week for two weeks and we have tags, so expect to see some deer and have another good hunt. The important thing is having a good time, if we get deer that is a bonus. good luck on your hunts old243
