Who knows the original story of the 9mm with the original loads and the cheap made pistols? Which made the industry make the loads at a slower FPS due to poorly engineered pistols creating damage and dangerous conditions when firing them? I am curious to what the original loads are were , and if the +, +p, or +p+ are at the original level of FPS? I personally only own Sigs but I am sure that there are plenty other pistols that are held to a higher standard and of course the budget built ones that will have issues with a higher level FPS? Should there be marketing listings which designate which pistols can be used with each different level of ammunition?

Many handguns come with information regarding the type of ammo recommended. I see several various handguns documents that clearly state "do not use" +P or +P+. If the paperwork is not with the handgun, often, you can search online or the mfg website for the restrictions.

There are a few websites that list the history of the 9mm Parabellum. Here's a couple for starters.
