Or trade? 788 remington

Just rebarrel it to a fast twist 22-250 Rem or AI. Shouldn't cost too much.

I like 1 in 9" twist best in 22-250, for the 77gr SMKs or 70gr Barnes. Use a 1 in 8" twist barrel if you plan to shoot the 80gr SMKs.

I'm leaning towards doing something of that nature. I've got an old USA built Burris Signature 6-24 that will likely find a home there.

I always wondered just how good the 788 action could shoot with an excellent match grade barrel. I'm certain Remington didn't put any better of a barrel on them than they put on the 700s, and look how good the typical 788s shoot with their factory barrels compared to how well most 700s shoot.

morning, I have owned 6 788's 223AI, 4-243's and 6mm. I gave
most of these rifles to friends children. 1 I put a plastic stock,
hart 26" barrel #5.5 varmint contour, glassed. 95gr. vld.
would shoot bugholes. cal. 243AI. I still have the 223AI. the
only draw back to this rifle is the clip. very distasteful. fastest
firing pin to primer time advertised. short barrels r oked
for children. I rebarreled as wanted for barrel contour and length.
