Obviously an impossible question but.....
I have a fair collection of interesting rifles.
I HAVE a VERY good 30-06....
Do i "need" a new/different ONE GUN for that potential short notice go to the remotes big game hunt? I.E. short notice fill in for elk/moose to prime area.
Im good to 500yds.
Thinking a 7mm Rem or 300 Win?
Love the STW but looking at availability of factory ammo.
Heavy for caliber bullet guy, not especially susceptible to recoil but a 7 does kick less than a 300....and of course 300 hits harder on the downrange end.
Thoughts?

ole Red...
factory ammo is what you cant find in Big Piney when you get there and realize your buddy didnt bring his handloads for his 308 Norma!
Quasi Retired is mid 50s with enough to live on but not enough for extra guns so you still gotta work some.
I just turned 50 myself, well about a decade and a half ago. Today I learned the meaning of a new word. That is just the kind of thing that justifies buying a new gun. At least with that 30-06 you could find factory ammo on the shelf in Bill, WY.
