Older Weatherby

DOA Cerro cast. I had same problem with a ore-64 model 70. Originally a 300 H&H it was marked 300 WM. To be sure, I cast 5he chamber and it was Weatherby. Although I wish the original owner had left it alone!
 
I know that the pre 64 Model 70's stamped
.300 Magnum were .300 H&H Magnum as it was the only .300 Magnum produced at the time.....
Weatherby did not produce anything but 300 Weatherby Mag from 1944 until the late 60s or early 70s. Until the 300 Win Mag came out the barrels were stamped 300 Mag. I think the 300 Win Mag came along in 63 or thereabouts, also based on the 300 H & H case.
