I just cannot get excited as some people seem to be about the 6.5 creedmore. I have never been a real fan of the 243 either. I am speaking specifically about using these calibers at 4-500 plus yards. I think a heavier bullet and a bigger diameter is in order for long range shots on elk, moose, bear especially. Whitetail deer ok I guess but the wound channel may not be effective on marginal hit. Just my two cents. How do you other long range hunters feel about this?

Buy a creedmoor, and harness the power of being able to sink aircraft carriers at 1500 yds.

I have nothing against the cartridge itself. It’s the people that buy into all the advertising and watch to many YouTube videos made by people that don’t have a clue about crap. The 6.5 creedmore is nothing special but it makes for a good prs cartridge. And Is just another cartridge that is as only as good as the shooter.

It has several good things going for it really. Factory rifles and ammo that shoot pretty darn good Lighter recoil it's a great round in the right arena. Some of us don't see it as a do it all?

Lol what’s with ppl spelling it creedmore instead of creedmoor all the time.

Wasn’t the name creedmoor used around the early 1900s by Remington for some type of firearm?

Its a great youth cartridge - I can buy a nice factory rifle and cheap accurate factory ammo for my son to shoot in his creed and not have to worry about handloading for him yet. Same recoil as my 260 without the extra work of making my own ammo. My son WILL be elk hunting with it and I won’t have a problem with him stretching it out to 400-500 yards on an elk - the kid is a better shot than I am:)

It betters a 270 Winchester at 500 yards and does it in a short action. So... what's not to like about it?
