Official Hammer bullets Terminal Performance (picture heavy)

I shot a buck today with my 6.5 creedmoor and the 110 hammer hunter muzzle velocity is 3050fps. He was 150 yards broadside I tucked the shoulder hard and hit him right where I wanted. He ran about 40 yards and piled up I took the heart and the front of the lungs out of him. Upon inspection I had a caliber entrance hole in the hide followed buy a massive entry in the ribs, the exit in the ribs was about the size of a 50 cent piece with good carnage and lots of shock throughout the side. You can see the shank exit plus the petals around in the off side hide I even found two fragments of petals in the hide.

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

My 15 yr old son took a doe at around 200 yd on a deer drive Saturday with the 6.5 Sherman Max. pushing 123 AH's at MV 3,495. The deer spun to take off just as he shot and he ended up taking it through the rear ham. The exit was just in front of the front leg. Good penetration and massive impact results. Fast take down on that one for sure. Liking the setup a lot.

With a cup and core you would have had a 3 legged deer wandering around

In fact, my other son had to finish off a wounded small doe that he watched going into the woods the other week. It didn't give him a decent shot angle, but he figured the 7-LRM with 180 Hybrids would reach the vitals with a TX heart shot. Due to the deer being on the move and about 250 yd out, he hit the ham dead on rather than between. The big 180 only made it to the gut. It put it down since it was wounded pretty bad already, though he had to finish it off with a neck shot. Had it been a big healthy deer, that shot would have been a bad story. A 169 HH in there would have done the job no doubt. I like the 180 Hybrid though for 1,000+ yd shooting. Just a good stable bullet.

Just returned from a trip to Texas. Rifle was a 6.5 Sherman Short shooting the 124 grain hammer hunter at 3250 FPS muzzle velocity. Killed 2 deer (one cull) and 3 hogs, all were dead right there. All of the hogs were head shots, up to 300 yards. One of the deer was 75 yards and one was 250 yards. No bullets recovered, all exited. Bullet performance was excellent.

This hog was hit in the center of his forehead on a frontal shot, one of his eyeballs popped clean out and was laying 2 feet away from the carcass (placed on his cheek in the photo). Bullet exited behind his left shoulder and clipped his back left leg. I continue to be impressed with the Hammers.

What was shot placement/path for the deer DRTs? The penetration of the hog head shot is impressive.

The first one was quartering slightly at 250 yards, so impact just a little forward of the traditional "high shoulder" shot, and exit on the other side a little behind that point. Kind of crossed the line in the middle. The 2nd one was similar but a little more angle to it, exit was a couple inches further back than the first, but at 75 yards the impact velocity was above 3100 FPS which likely played a role in the effect, major shock wave.

Big body 6pt taken with the Mule (300 RUM) and the 124 HH@ 4200fps, 320 yards impact velocity was 3100 FPS, in behind the front shoulder out in between the last rib, minimal meat damage, near side lung was gone, quarter size hole in the opposite lung, liver was split in 3 places, the shot busted the diaphragm and pushed the guts out the impact side

Dang Bean,
With results like that, no need to marinade them in Pesto...

Those are the shots that we learn from. It's the tough shots that workout well that make me happy. Thanks for sharing.
