Official Hammer bullets Terminal Performance (picture heavy)

Congrats on the elk, snd to a great shot as well. Im impressed with these bullets. Very impressed.
I'll share the congratulations with my daughter, it's been a struggle getting her on an elk but after a couple very close ones with a bull she wasn't letting another elk walk, she knelt down and sent it!! She's been shooting competitions since she was little so she's painfully slow taking the shot BUT when she pulls the trigger something is dead!!!

The deer havent cooperated much in my neck of the woods this year, tomorrow is the last day of the regular rifle season , and tonite was my only op. So, does were on the endangered species had I seen one. Last lite, one came out, 270 yds, i was waiting for her to take another step, and in my peripheral sight, to my left, five walked out, all big, or decent sized does. They were bunched up sorta, and lite was fading. I needed one to tske a step to clear the herd, she did, i fired, five deer scattered. Walked down field see where she went, she and tge others had jumped a ditch, went thirty yards, piled up. I had to walk around to a crossover road to get to her, when i did, fifty yards parallel to where i shot her, another one laid dead too. Surprised to say the least, as it wasnt intentional.
Now, to the terminal performance! The pic shown is entrance on the outside, and inside, of the first deer . Internals were shredded, heart obliterated. On the second deer, it apears thst one of the pedals after exiting deer one, not only went into the second deer , but actually exited as well. It sliced though the rib, cut the back half of the heart, as if by a filet knife, and exited as well.
My rifle, is a 1994 sendero, originally in 25.06, but was chambered to 25.06ai, when it was new. I bought this past spring, and Butterbean turned me on to the Hammer hunter, 92 grain. Load developement was easy, i just reduced a load i had for a lighter bullet, and day one, it was shooting .5 groups, and repeated. Ive been a Barnes fan for many years, and never thought anything would un seat me from thrm, but these beauties are gamechangers for sure. Thanks to Butterbean for posting the pics, and sending me these bullets. Both are keepers!
And to Steve, great product, and great service.

I think it's a female hunter thing, perfect or not at all!!!!

In the last 3 years of hunting (also her first three), my wife has taken big game animals from 350 yards out to 713 yards, and all were absolutely perfect, and also, every one of them I was biting my nails waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the shot!!!! However I would MUCH rather have that than misses and wounded animals, so I just have to live with it, and I'm sure with more hunting, will come more efficiency.

Slow makes smooth, smooth makes fast!!

Congratulations to your daughter! My oldest is 7, I get jittery and excited even now just thinking about his first big game animal. I can't even imagine the excitement and pride you must have felt!! Fantastic!

Daughter's elk, 124 Hammer from 6.5 Creedmore right at 200 yards. Heavy quartering down hill, entered dead center behind the shoulder exited in front of the off side shoulder very low. MESSED it up inside, ran 15 yards and piled up. Her first elk!!
I've only used the 124 HH out of my 6.5x47 for deer. But at 2938 FPS they've been outstanding. Congratulations to your daughter, and thanks for posting the pictures. Every time I shoot an animal with these 124's I can't believe how good they work.

A liitle more forensics on the Hammer hunter. I boned out both deer this morn, and originally thought that one of the pedals did the fatal damage to the second deer. Not the case. It was the shank, that after clearing deer one, entered and exited deer two, severed her heart as if with a knife. As a side note, it went through both rear sections of the front leg muscles that come off of the shoulder plate, on both sides, then was trapped in the skin.
Im totally impressed, and totally sold. These things are for real boys snd girls.

Doe at 200 yards, Tikka T3X CTR, 308 Winchester, 152 Hammer Hunter. She ran about 30 yards and just tipped over. When I heard the WHOP of the impact I didn't even work the bolt. Shot placed a little farther back so as to not ruin any shoulder meat. Took out lung and pulverized the liver. The usual Hammer small entrance and medium (3 finger) exit. No bullet recovery of course. Love these bullets!

So the right side is the entry,

it must have been opened just prior to the rib cage between the shoulder and shotgun blasted the rib cage going in, shredding the entry side lung. The base made a thumb hole size hole going through the exit side lung

This was about 3rd group into load development at 200 yds in 260 Rem with 110 Hammer BUT was with 210 primer.

Talked to Steve and he strongly suggested to retry with 215 primer which the next day shot a .3 moa group and added approx 40fps.

Have since shot many groups out to 500 yds and average is .3 to .6 session to session.

One of the most recent surprises I got was after season closed and approx 200 rounds later (started with bare cleaned barrel) I decided to clean the Savage Barrel to see how Hammers fouled. Shot full of Wipe Out foam waited 4 hours and patch came back SNOW white!
