Obama's skeet gun

The picture has been seen by many,
....question: What is the vertical plume coming off of the top of the barrel?

Its a ported skeet / trap gun with top ports to reduce muzzle rise. It is back a ways as this gun uses a longer version of the screw in chokes, as seen on the top tube at the muzzle.

I figured that is what it was,
