Not long range !!

This is not long range rig at all. It is great truck and light walk around 223 rifle. A whole 5lbs . It came as an "extra" as part of trade. It set in the corner of shop for year till I got bug to see if I could enhance it to it's maxium. I kinda enjoy fixing up a "dog". I got trigger down to nice 3 1\2 lbs, installed Skinner express peep sight, recut the rough factory crown with nice 11deg one. It is now shoots 50yd 1" group with my handloads. I would say the best enhancement was peep sight. Up close critters beaware!!!

A single shot rifle is about the most dependable thing on the planet next to a rock. Neat to see one being tinkered with. My .243/20ga Rossi is not exceedingly accurate but it is stupid light and makes a great gun for snap shots up close. I've taken a couple deer with it because I was too worn out to take a bolt action with me on those days. Either don't hunt or take the crack barrel? I'll take the crack barrel.
