I had shot a Kudu with a 180gr Nosler Accubond at 230yards on the shoulder bones. The muzzle velocity is 2540fps. The bullet went right through. The Kudu dropped dead after a furhter 15yards. Incredible bullet!!

Muzzle energy was in the region of 2590ft-lbs and at impact in the region of 1900ft-lbs. It penetrated through the shoulder blades and ribs on both sides. Had it penetrated larger bones I believe I would have been able to recover the bullet.

Last year I shot a blue wildebeest with this same load/bullet. The bullet was on the other side of the wildebeest just under the skin, but then the workers had flashed it down the drain. Terrible!

However, I had Hornady Interbonds recovered from 2 Kudu before and they had a 84% weight retention. Muzzle velocity was +-2830fps. What was more incredible was that the diameter of the mushroom was 16.8mm from the 6.8mm bullet of the .270Win. This is nearly 2.5 times the original diameter of the bullet.

Took several animals in Africa last month with some 160 Gr AB's in my 7mm rem mag. Really good performance. Shot a Kudu on the shoulder @ 75 yrds. Down in mid-stride. Gemsbuck @ 200 yds. Dropped in tracks. Same with a reedbuck @ about 100 yds. Went all of the way through a Blk Wilderbeast @ about 400 yds. He ran about 300 yds. Double lung. He just didn't know he was dead yet. Did not get the impressive wide mushroom, but sure killed animals well. Bruce

I don't have any African experience, but 110 accubonds at 3100 fps out of my 25-06 through and throughed a big bodied muley buck at 350. Behind his right shoulder, broke a few ribs then through the left shoulder and out the other side. Very impressed.

The attached pictures the the performance I'm getting with my 257 ackley improved through a barrel made by match grade machine and machined by E Arthur Brown out of Minnesota off of my portable bench at 100 yards
