North Dakota and South Dakota. Nonresident Mule Deer Hunt?

Say looking for 2023/2024 Mule Deer hunt
In either state, depending on the ease of getting a tag.

What can the natives tell me.
I'm just looking for the opportunity to hunt, not per sé after a trophy
Any part of the state for recommendation's???

You're likely going to need at least 5 points in SD as a nonresident and probably even more in ND for rifle unless you get extremely lucky. Archery in SD is draw but automatic tag if by draw deadline. ND is draw for archery and extremely difficult.

I can draw rifle mule deer in ND with about 8 points as a resident. I haven't drawn a mule deer tag as a nonresident in SD after 5 years. Hopefully this year.

Your probability of drawing a rifle tag in either state in the next two years is effectively zero.
