nikon or vortex

im looking for a new scope.im looking real hard at the viper 4-12 pa or nikon 4.5-14 buckmaster.i like the buckmaster but dont really have a chance to look at any vortexs since im in eastern orygun and cant find any to look at.anybody here ever checked out both?i prefer a side focus but aint picky.

I've got a Nikon monarch and a Vortex viper. The optics are on the same level but the turrets and really all the adjustments on the viper are way nicer. The monarch is supposed to be a level up from the buckmaster so I gotta say the viper would be twice the scope. My only complaint with the viper is the eye relief is pretty minimal. Mine is on a 25-06 and it is perfect, anything much bigger could be a problem.
