I'm pretty sure I've read something along these lines here in the past. I recently acquired a nxs 3.5-15×50 with quick adjustments but no zero stop. I like the idea of threading the turret cap with a grub screw to create a zero stop. Is it really that simple? It will get hunted with aswel as gong shot and I prefer zero stops on all my scopes. Any advice welcome

You could try this. On the elevator shaft, use a threaded nut that has been drilled for a grub screw. set your zero, finger tighten the screw and then tighten the grub screw... Think of setting up a reloading die is how it might work.... Unsure as I don't have a scope like yours..

Another, slightly less invasive option. I have no experience with threading the turret cap, it may work better. This is just another idea if your worried about damaging something.
