Night force 5.5x22 or 8x32

Folks,
i am currenlty having a .338 cheytac gun built, and i keep going back and forth in trying to decide between the two scopes listed above. do you have any advice on which way to go. The total MOA adjustment in the scope is not critical, i will not shoot past 1800 yards. some say you cant get past 25 power without mirage so why have a scope that will. any input would be great. this will be a longrange deer and elk gun.gun)

On my .338 Lapua I went from a 5.5 ~ 22 NXS to a 8 ~ 32 NXS , then back to a 5.5 ~ 22.

Here are the reasons I went back.

Mirage,

Smaller field of View

Loss of 35 MOA

The only plus to the 8x32 was point of aim. I could split a smaller aim point at 1000 yards and it resulted in slightly smaller groups.

The 5.5 ~22 will suit you fine to 1800 yards and then some.
