This new cartridge is essentially a 6.5 PRC necked up to .277 and will be a long range cartridge.

Yeah I think you’re right. It’s PRC length from what I recall. I’ll have to look at the chamber print again.
Per SAAMi, the twist is 8” and the 175 gr bullet has a nominal velocity of 2840 fps from a 24”.

This is copied & pasted from another another forum. It was post on Tuesday I think:

Comparing drawings, it looks like this 6.8 Western is .010 shorter than the 6.5 prc. It's also fatter than the prc. It's closer to the diameter of a wsm cartridge. This leads me to believe the parent case is a wsm, shortened with 35 degree shoulder.
