New savage axis xp

Picking up an axis xp with no accutrigger. Is it worthwhile upgrading to one or is there a better option? I'm sure I can clip the spring for now,right?
.270 for whitetails ,any suggestions on starting load data? I definitely have more reloading supplies than factory ammo so I'd like to save the factory ammo. Should I brake barrel in with factory ammo or reloads? Have some once fired brass ready to load.

No need to clip the spring and I wouldn't upgrade. I have done trigger jobs in a couple of them. The spring will screw in and out once the sealer is removed. It is a pita to get nice and Safe! But I have a couple for truck guns and wanted to put as little cash in as possible.It would be much easier to buy a rifle basics or accutrigger---I hate accutriggers!

Found enough ammo ,got around 20 rounds down the barrel. Not the greatest trigger but definitely not the worst I've pulled.
