New rifle for 1,400 yard shooting

Just finished this rifle, and it will be used out to 1,400 yds. for wide open country deer hunting -

Cartridge is based on a maximized 280 case, necked up to .30 caliber -

New case / formed case / fire-formed case

I have yet to pick out a specific bullet for long-range deer, so I thought I would ask you guys for your preference. Shooting distance will be out 1,400 yards. Initial testing shows 180 gr. bullets exceeding 3,000 fps. if that helps any, and twist rate is 1-10".

I would see if you could get the 208 ELD-M in the 2850 fps range they will expand down to 1300-1400 fps then you might have a chance. more than likely you will be limited to 1100 yds for proper bullet function

I thought you were building this for a customer in Pennsylvania? Why not use the same bullets you used to kill the deer at 1,862 yards?

Customer plans on testing/shooting the following bullets:

Sierra 165 gr. B.T. Spitzer

Hornady 168 gr. A-MAX

Hornady 178 gr. A-MAX

Sierra 180 gr. B.T. Spitzer

On average, the 300 Jr. bests the 30-06 by 300+ fps...

Since I will only chamber for this cartridge in a 30" or longer barrel, 110 gr. bullets can easily be pushed 4,000 fps. and 125 gr. Ballistic Tip bullets exceed 3,600 fps. for those that want a light and fast varmint round...

This round shoots "1" powder faster and more accurately than all powders tested - IMR-4350...

Starting loads for the 300 Jr. are from loading manual listed maximum loads for the 30-06...

Yes he's quite good at that. He's done the same thing to other posts of his on the other forum as well.

There was a little dust up with him on the other forum recently so I guess he's moved over here to spread his tails.

He touts his 300 Jr as Gods gift to deer hunting and pushes its feats to unsuspecting shooters. Hopefully perspective clients will do their homework before they purchase.
