New Purple Heart rifle build

I have not but that's a great idea thank you.
Update, vortex responded back yesterday and is on board again. They didn't say what they were doing but said they were sending it out this week so we shall see. Last year they did scope mounts and hats. I never really was a fan of them. Used Nikon for that price range. But they have won me over with this help and now I'm proud to say I have many of the products. Heck my 5 yo son has the cheaper bios for fun. I feel like I was missing out for a while because they are great products.

Ok so every year I do a semi custom rifle to the best of my ability, nothing fancy. Once done I donate it to the local SCI Purple Heart program. This program uses 100 percent of the proceeds to send as many Purple Heart recipient hunters...

... So this year I'm thinking of doing a full shooting system. So I'm starting with a 350 legand because we are in Michigan and the 450 is the newest craze so I think the legand will also be hot.
It will be a Ruger American ranch...

I have a new matte 30 MOA 7075 T6 picatinny rail for a short action Ruger American that I could donate, if you like. It is made similar to the Warne Tactical rail... PM me if you'd like to have it for the build.

This program uses 100 percent of the proceeds to send as many Purple Heart recipient hunters to a great hunt at legands ranch in bitely Michigan. The ranch does a whole week dedicated to these hunters and it's a fantastic cause put on by great people. So I decide to get involved. I've done a few bolt action rifle and the last 3 years I've done AR 15's in calibers that are popular at the time like 300blk and Grendel. They sell tickets for several months for $10 each. Then draw a ticket at the banquet.
This year I'm thinking of stepping it up a bit. Keep in mind it needs to make money and more than it cost to build as I don't wanna waste my time when I could just donate the money.

It will be a Ruger American ranch, Boyd's has come on board already with a thumbhole stock. Vortex has been donating scopes and mounts for several years so I'm hoping they continue. So once it's bedded in it new stock scope mounted. I'm gonna brake it in with factory ammo, chronograph and get custom turrets made. I'd also like to hopefully supply a range finder. M I think with the hunters around here it would be a big hit. Any thing else you think might make it sell better?
What's your thoughts?
Have you considered, since it's for the Purple Heart program, of building a stock using purple heart wood? It would be fitting m'thinks and pretty as well.

So update. The Ruger American I. 350 legend uses ar style mags. What I found out and so did Boyd's is it's a different bottom metal inlay. They don't offer a stock. So I'm thinking I'll have to use the stock. Oh well would have been cool to do. A place in Florida can make a bottom metal for it they think. But that more shipping and cost. Not sure if it would be worth it for a 250 yard and less gun. Especially with hammer Bullets being the chosen bullet. Not sure I'd gain anything from the stock accuracy wise. Could instead do a nice paint job to make it more appealing. Thoughts?

Are you wood-safe, i.e. could the BM inletting be opened up to fit? Or is it the other way around and there would be a gap or gaps?

I put a PT&G M5 style DBM bottom metal that uses Accuracy International magazines, in a Boyds Ruger American S/A stock. Mine is a Ruger American Predator 6.5 Creedmoor. Took some serious fitting though. Had to modify the rear recoil lug and the bottom metal significantly. Turned out beautifully. Can pull the stock and send pictures, if you'd like. If you'd like to discuss how I fit it, PM me.

PT&G may donate the bottom metal and maybe even a AI magazine to go with it.

Still have that 30 MOA Picatinny rail for the Ruger American S/A, available to donate, if you want it.

Snox, this is awesome what you're doing! I just saw this thread. If you still need a range finder, I have a Zeiss Victory PRF,NIB in my safe at home. I've taken it out but not used it. I would like to donate it to the cause if you see it fit to what you're looking for.

I'll go talk to my club next week if I can find the right person. They have experience with raffles for things like this... Not sure if they have the online bit down or not. We're in SE Mich.

Cool thanks guys.
I have the rifle and it is chambered. Thank you for the offer. I will keep it in mind for the next one.
Ben if they can't do the online stuff being close enough I could get you tickets.
Thanks guys

.......
Sorry had to brag a bit.
He'll, that's not bragging. I can appreciate how special that was to meet a Medal of Honor recipient. Had an older neighbor once who didn't much care for my young teen kids. Always grousing about something. One day the wife said "You gotta go talk to that guy." So I beat on the door expecting the worst. The lady of the house graciously invited me in to talk to her husband. As I walk in, I see an awards display cabinet, with ribbons and medals in it. Closer inspection revealed 2 purple hearts, one with oak leaf clusters....and a Medal of Honor. The man had been among the first wave to hit Normandy Beach. Needless to say, I told my wife " As far as we are concerned , that man has earned the right to say anything he wants to. I don't care who gets their feelings hurt." When she heard why, she agreed. I was extremely humbled to meet that man. Not sure I could have done what he did. Be sure and post a ticket alert thread, and for what it's worth.....thank YOU for YOUR service.

So after looking at that a bit more it is not the same as the 350 bottom that uses standard at mags. But what if I did that bottom metal? Not sure how the 350 legend rounds would fit in that mag. The 450 bush works with those mags as single stack but not sure how the 350 would feed as it's very similar to the .223 width.
